Students can experience exciting hands-on activities, projects, and problems while surveying the opportunities available in agriculture and natural resources. These studies include areas of communication, the science of agriculture, plants, animals, natural resources, and agricultural mechanics.
Open to grades 10,11, & 12 - Prerequisite: Introduction to Agriculture, Food & Natural Resources
This course will provide an overview of the field of agricultural science with a foundation in Animal science. Students will do hands-on projects and activities to learn the characteristics of animal science while focusing on careers such as veterinarians, zoologists, livestock producers, or animal science industry personnel.

This course will provide an overview of the field of agricultural science with a foundation in Plant science. Students will work in teams, exploring hands-on projects and activities, to learn the characteristics of plant science. They will explore careers in horticulture, agronomy, greenhouse management, and more.
Open to grades 11 & 12 -- Prerequisite: Introduction to Agriculture, Food & Natural Resources
This is a two-year, two-hour course focusing on landscaping and greenhouse operations. The greenhouse curriculum develops the basic understanding of plant science production of plants, identification of plants as well as greenhouse management techniques including energy management, construction, asexual and sexual propagation, and growing and marketing the products. In the landscape curriculum the students apply theory of landscape design to actual projects Site analysis, design, plant selection and installation of new landscapes and turf are covered. The class does several hands-on projects throughout the year including maintaining and operating a greenhouse.

Activities in the conservation and or improvement of natural resources such as soil, water, air, forest, fish and wildlife for economic and recreational purposes is the focus of this course.
Open to grade 12 -- Prerequisite: Introduction to Agriculture, Food & Natural Resources and Animal Science
This course covers basic veterinary knowledge with a skills set that prepares the student to assist a veterinarian. The course covers basic terminology, zoonotic diseases, lab skills, sample collection, basic care for animals, breed identification (small and large), surgical instrument identification, surgical prep, drug administration, and professional conduct.
Open to grade 12 -- Prerequisite: None - Instructor approval required to enroll
This work experience program is designed to meet the needs of students with career goals in the occupational areas of agricultural, technical, trade, and industrial education. The co-op program is an arrangement between the school and work site. Students may earn up to two credits for their on-the-job experience.
