This year’s incoming Freshman Class that will graduate in May 2021 will be the first that can earn the new Career and Technical Education Certificate when they complete their high school program.  The requirement’s set forth by the Missouri State Board of Education are intended to provide students with the necessary technical and employability skills to be prepared for an entry-level career or additional training in a technical field.  Students must meet all requirements in order to receive the CTE certificate.  Students and parents can find the requirements at the following link: https://dese.mo.gov/sites/default/files/cte-certificate-criteria.pdf

The attendance requirement of 95% is extremely important to recognize early.  Poor attendance, early on in a student’s high school career, could keep the student from qualifying for this certificate in their final years of high school.  We hope that many of our students at FTC as well as our sending high schools will set goals to achieve this in high school.
